A lot of my friends are getting married or engaged or have had boyfriends/girlfriends for yearsss and I feel like I'm so behind in my life because I'm not picking out wedding dresses or moving in with my boyfriend.

=(

Settling down to early isn't all it's cracked up to be. Remember that they're missing vital years of their youth, which they'll probably regret, even though they'll never say it out loud. Settling down is something you can do forever, but being on your own and not having to consider someone else in everything you do? That's unique.

I thought I'd settled down when I was 20. Years of a well-functioning relationship and a future I couldn't imagine without him. Then I lost him, and I've never felt better. Of course some people are people who are dependent on being in a relationship, having someone to take care of them or even having someone to take care of -- and I'm sure they're happier as they are. But those who are happy alone, even if it's only temporary, should enjoy it to the fullest.

At least that's my opinion. (:
